SVARGA designers recreated the pattern on this vyshyvanka based on a shirt worn by Nazariy Yaremchuk, as seen in archival photos featured in a documentary film.
This recreated vyshyvanka was part of the stage costume worn by Nazariy Yaremchuk and the vocal-instrumental ensemble “Smerichka,” which was known for its ethnic style. The geometric pattern on the chest and sleeves of the shirt consists of a composition of rhombuses, triangles, and spirals.
Designers Alla Dutkivska and Vasyl Zinkevych collaborated on the costumes, blending contemporary fashion trends with national traditions. That is why the band “Smerichka” was a phenomenon on the music scene at the time, not only because of its extraordinary music but also because of its innovative clothing style.
The collaboration between the film and the SVARGA brand took place with the consent of the film’s producer, Maria Yaremchuk, and with the support of the Nerd agency, which is the licensing agent for the brand “Yaremchuk: An Incomparable World of Beauty.”
