Boriviter Women’s Embroidered shirt

This vyshyvanka was created in honor of the “Boriviter” mosaic panel by the 1960s artist Alla Gorska as part of a collaboration between the embroidered clothing brand SVARGA, the “Boriviter Military School” NGO, and the “Alla Gorska and Viktor Zaretsky Foundation” charitable organization
A loose-fitting shirt with a stand-up collar and long sleeves that can be rolled up with a buttoned cuff. The main motif—the “Boriviter” bird—is centered on the chest. The yoke features a simple ribbon design and the SVARGA brand logo. The cuff on the left sleeve is adorned with an embroidered logo of the “Boriviter Military School” NGO, and the right sleeve features a motif from the “Boriviter” mosaic panel.

The Symbolism of the Embroidered shirt: The mosaic panel titled “Boriviter” was damaged as a result of Russian forces shelling the city. We created a vyshyvanka that tells the story of the mosaic by using the color of the concrete on which it is depicted and dividing it into two parts: the right side—featuring an image of a surviving bird—and the left side—featuring a destroyed one. The embroidery on the shirt echoes the technique of the Monumentalists. In this way, we continue the story of Alla Horska’s bird, adding the story of the present to it.

All proceeds from the sale of “Boriviter” men’s and women’s vyshyvankas are directed toward training Ukrainian military personnel at the “Boriviter” Military School.
