The dressβs design is inspired by Ukrainian decorative modernism. The pattern draws inspiration from the works of Ukrainian female artists of the 1960s, who often drew on folk art and ethnic motifs in their creative works.
The embroidered design captures the colors of summerβfrom the first blossoms to ripe fruit. The dress is inspired by Ukrainian orchards, where blossoms and ripe fruit coexistβas a symbol of the continuity of life.
The hand-embroidered technique of the pattern has been recreated using machine embroidery.
