Men’s vyshyvanka from the collection “Embroidered Ukraine.”
The pattern originates from an embroidered shirt from the 1940s in the Kamianets-Podilskyi District of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast. The design is rendered in a palette of lilac and blue hues, which is characteristic of this region.
The original shirt, which served as the model for this reproduction, comes from the private collection of an ethnologist. Khrystyna Shcherbyna.
Coordinated Outfit — Women’s vyshyvanka from Khmelnytskyi Oblast.
The pattern is created using machine embroidery that imitates the cross-stitch technique typically used in hand embroidery.
