The vyshyvanka got its name in honor of the Chornyi Cheremosh River, which flows through the entire village of Kryvorivnya.
The shirt’s design is based on original patterns created by embroiderer Hanna Plytka, the mother of artist Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit.
The SVARGA team reimagined the exhibits for the “Hutsulia” collection using items from an old cottage at the Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit Museum. The visual inspiration for the collection came from the artist’s photo archive, which allows viewers to experience Paraska’s creative perspective and gain insight into the authentic life of the village of Kryvorivnya.
This item features machine embroidery that replicates the “nyzynka” embroidery technique.
The garment ties at the hem and fastens with buttons at the cuffs.
