Women’s loose-fitting vyshyvanka From the “Nizynka” collection.
The vyshyvanka features machine embroidery that replicates the traditional hand-embroidery technique known as “nizzya.”
The pattern on this shirt is based on an antique vyshyvanka from the 1920s, which originated in the village of Kuty, in the Kosiv District of the Hutsul region.
This women’s shirt features a rounded neckline adorned with embroidered ribbon motifs. The sleeves feature embroidered cuffs composed of the ancient “infinity” symbol, which symbolizes the cyclical nature of life and protection. In the embroidered strip, the “infinity symbol” is arranged in “braided crosses,” which are considered a talisman against evil.
The decorative elements are arranged on the shirt using a checkerboard and ribbon pattern, which is characteristic of traditional nizzu embroidery.
