The pattern is reproduced from an antique shirt dating back to the early 20th century, originating from the town of Haisyn in the Vinnytsia region.
The shirt’s pattern is dominated by diamond shapes with rows of protruding serrations and a secondary ornamental motif known as “sheep’s horns.” These elements are traditional and most characteristic of the ancient nizzyu embroidery technique.
