Women’s vyshyvanka from the “Boikivshchyna” capsule collection.
This shirt is embroidered with a floral pattern more typical of the eastern regions of the Boikivshchyna. Floral motifs adorn the panels, collar, and yoke. The cuffs feature voluminous ruffles, embellished with a thin strip of embroidery.
The traditional cross-stitch technique used on vyshyvankas has been recreated using machine embroidery.
The shirt’s patterns are based on a vyshyvanka from the early 20th century, originating from the village of Lypovytsia in the Kalush District of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. The artifact used as a model for the embroidery is housed in the collection of the National Museum of Architecture and Life in Ukraine.
