Men’s vyshyvanka from the collection “Embroidered Ukraine.”
The pattern originates from a shirt from the village of Kolontaiv, Bohodukhiv District, Kharkiv Oblast. The sleeves of the vyshyvanka are decorated with vertical stripes of viburnum. The front panels are embroidered with oak leaves and acorns. The pattern is reproduced from an antique vyshyvanka from the early 20th century, which is part of the collection of the National Museum of Architecture and Life in Ukraine.
The hand-embroidery technique has been reproduced using machine embroidery.
