The book “Ukrainian Patterns: A Collection by Olga Bachynska”

“Ukrainian Patterns: A Collection by Olga Bachynska. First Edition”—a popular science album in which folk ornaments, sketched from Ukrainian embroidered items from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, are published, cataloged, and studied for the first time; most of the patterns date from the early 20th century.
The book features one hundred spreads from the working album of Olga Antonivna Bachynska, a researcher of Ukrainian culture, social activist, and collector.
The book aims to present the ethnographer’s body of work to the general public and to restore the forgotten name of this outstanding researcher to the contemporary cultural and informational landscape.
Archival materials from the Olga Bachynska Memorial Museum—a branch of the Stryi Local History Museum “Verkhovyna”—were used in preparing this publication.
