Women’s vyshyvanka from the collection “Embroidered Ukraine.”
The pattern was created from an antique vyshyvanka dating from the early 20th century, which is preserved in the collection of the National Museum of Architecture and Life in Ukraine. It was discovered during expeditions in the 1970s in the village of Nikolskoye in the Volnovakha District of Donetsk Oblast. The embroidery on the shirt consists of floral and geometric elements. The hand-embroidery technique has been recreated using machine embroidery.
