We created the “Luhansk Region” embroidered clothing capsule collection to support the unique book *Embroidered Shirts of the Luhansk Region* by researchers Volodymyr Shchybri and Lesya Voronyuk, who published it in partnership with the NGO “World Vyshyvanka Day,” the Center for Folklore and Ethnography at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine.
Through this collaboration, we aim to preserve and promote our heritage, which has been usurped by Russia. After all, along with the territories of the Luhansk region, the history, culture, and way of life of the people of Luhansk—including their songs, folklore, cultural landmarks, and clothing—have also fallen under occupation. In particular, the history and distinctiveness of local art have been preserved in the embroidered shirts of the Luhansk region. By preserving and recreating these embroidered shirts, we strive to restore a living connection with the authentic, Ukrainian Luhansk region.
