Horodok Stitch: A Family Clothing Collection
The “Horodok Stitch” collection is dedicated to a unique embroidery technique that is common in the Lviv region, specifically in the town of Horodok and the surrounding villages (Kernitsa, Cherlyany, Uhry, Godvyshnya, Artyshchiv, Drozdovychi, and others).
“Horodok stitch” is a unique type of traditional embroidery with a history spanning more than a century. It is characterized by threads that are predominantly red, as well as black, white, blue, and yellow.
The embroidery features symbolic elements: “ladders,” “snakes or curves,” “moons,” “half-moons,” “clusters,” and “serrated loops.” The patterns contain symbols of the Sun, Moon, and Water—the elements that sustain life on Earth.

To create the “Horodok Stitch” capsule collection, the SVARGA brand turned to Municipal Institution “Horodok Museum of History and Local Lore”, whose exhibition features antique shirts embroidered in the Horodok style, as well as individual embroidery fragments on scarves, bedspreads, and napkins.
In July 2024, by decision of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the “Horodok stitch” embroidery technique was included in the National List of Elements of Ukraine’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is a very important step toward documenting, preserving, and passing on this heritage to future generations.

With this capsule collection dedicated to the Horodok region, we aim to support the mission of the Horodok Museum of History and Local Lore and contribute to the preservation and promotion of the traditional Horodok embroidery technique.
Now every Ukrainian can choose a shirt adorned with Horodok embroidery. Also, exclusively in this capsule collection, we’re introducing two children’s shirts—one for girls and one for boys—to popularize the Horodok embroidery style among Ukrainians of all ages.
