The pattern on this shirt is based on an antique vyshyvanka from the 1920s, which originated in the village of Kuty in the Kosiv District of the Hutsul region.
This men’s shirt features a stand-up collar densely embroidered with ribbon motifs. The chest is adorned with an ornament featuring the ancient “infinity” symbol, which represents the cyclical nature of life and protection. In the embroidered strip, the “infinity symbol” is arranged within “braided crosses,” which are considered a talisman against evil.
The decorative elements are arranged on the shirt in a ribbon-like pattern, which is characteristic of traditional nizzyu embroidery.
