This men’s vyshyvanka is part of the “Horodok Stitch” capsule collection, in which SVARGA’s designers have combined various techniques of the ancient Horodok stitch.
To recreate these antique patterns, the Gorodok Museum of History and Local Lore provided its collection of artifacts. Among them are vyshyvankas, scarves, bedspreads, and napkins, which date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The embroidery on this shirt features geometric patterns, the “infinity” motif, and solar and lunar symbols. The design is executed in a color palette typical of Horodok embroidery. Colors include red (which dominates all other colors), yellow, and blue.
Family look – Women’s vyshyvanka, embroidered dress, vyshyvanka for a boy, Embroidered shirt for girls.
Hand-embroidery techniques such as “misyachky,” “drabinka,” “vuzhik,” and “pid shnurok” are recreated using machine embroidery.
